Waterloo Race for Diabetes

A special thank you to our corporate sponsors, runners, walkers, race sponsors and volunteers who all worked together to help raise funds for local children with diabetes to attend Camp Sweeney this summer!

Texoma Health Foundation’s (THF) annual Waterloo Race for Diabetes is a 5K race and a 1K kids’ fun run to benefit THF’s Diabetes Initiative and raise awareness of the disease.

The race begins at beautiful Waterloo Lake Park in Denison. The race includes cash prizes and all participants receive a t-shirt and a goody bag.

All proceeds benefit area residents with diabetes. The race allows THF to award scholarships to local children with diabetes to attend Camp Sweeney near Gainesville, a three-week residential diabetic life skills training program. Kids diagnosed with diabetes enjoy a fun camp experience while learning to make healthy choices and manage their disease. In addition, THF offers diabetes education and testing supplies to area residents of all ages.
